Halimat Humanitarian Foundation is a community-focused humanitarian organisation committed to poverty alleviation, empowerment and community development.
We believe humanitarian work is not simply about giving. It is about understanding people's needs, creating opportunities and supporting people to build better futures.
We therefore work through projects, partnerships, volunteers and fundraising activities to address practical challenges affecting vulnerable individuals and communities.
Our Story
How the foundation began
The foundation grew out of a simple conviction: that practical, well-organised action can change what is possible for a child, a family or a whole community.
It began with conversations — with families, teachers and community members — about the barriers that hold people back. Those conversations became small projects, and those projects became a foundation built around listening first and acting carefully.
Today we continue to work in the same way: identifying genuine needs, designing practical responses, bringing volunteers and partners together, and reporting honestly on what our work achieves.

Meet the Founder
Halimat Bello
Founder
Halimat Bello founded Halimat Humanitarian Foundation with a desire to contribute to the wellbeing and development of vulnerable people and communities.
With a background in project management, she brings an approach based on identifying needs, developing practical solutions, coordinating people and resources, and ensuring that projects deliver meaningful outcomes.
Through the foundation, she aims to bring together volunteers, donors, businesses, organisations and community members to turn ideas into practical action.

Juliet Anthony Ojonimi
Secretary
“Service to humanity is the best work of life.”
Juliet Anthony Ojonimi is the Secretary of Halimat Humanitarian Foundation. Dedicated and hardworking, she has been actively involved in all of the foundation's projects — coordinating records, correspondence and the organisational work that keeps each programme running.
She hails from Lokoja, the confluence city of Kogi State, Nigeria. Juliet is a humanitarian expert, a Biochemist (in view), a top-notch fashion designer and a dancer.
Her watchword — "Service to humanity is the best work of life" — reflects the commitment she brings to every project the foundation delivers.
Salihu Jemila Happiness
Project Country Director
“Putting people first and creating opportunities that bring hope and dignity.”
Salihu Jemila Happiness is the Project Country Director of Halimat Humanitarian Foundation. She is a dedicated humanitarian, a professional bank marketer and a digital marketer.
Born in Abuja and originally from Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria, her work is driven by compassion, integrity, service and accountability. She believes true humanity is about putting people first and creating opportunities that bring hope and dignity.
Through humanitarian projects and community engagement, she strives to inspire positive change, touch lives and make a lasting difference in the world.
Engr. Aliyu Taofeeq A.
Project Manager
“BOSS — Built On Self Success.”
Engr. Aliyu Taofeeq A. is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State. He is also a skilled graphic designer and a self-made entrepreneur, popularly known as BOSS — an acronym for Built On Self Success.
Originally from Kogi State, Nigeria, Aliyu is a humanitarian at heart with a strong commitment to selfless service, human development and capacity building. Driven by a passion for growth, he has traveled extensively in search of knowledge and consistently brings back insights to impact his community.
He currently serves as Project Manager at the Halimat Humanitarian Foundation, where he ensures seamless planning and execution of all programmes. His leadership is rooted in teamwork, foresight and excellence — bringing people together, solving problems proactively, implementing strong internal controls and managing public relations to deliver timely and successful outcomes.
